Soooo lucky.
Man, I'm a freakin' lucky guy. Well, if you ignore the stuff that I'm not so lucky about. But twice since I started working at Ford has my car broke down. Twice in a month and a half! The first time the tension dealer under the hood broke so stuff like my air conditioner, power drive and stuff weren't working and most importantly, it wouldn't recharge the battery while I drove so every second I was moving I was loosing battery power. But it just so happens that the mercury sable uses the exact same tensioner as a Ford Windstar! And that's the exact van that my step dad drives! And I pick him up and bring him to work every morning! So what did he do? He grabbed an extra tensioner and when he got to work he stuck it in my car and poof, I was done.
But that's not freakin' all! Two days ago I got my lazy self out of bed a whole 20 minutes before I had to be at work moving cars. That actually wasn't bad for me 'cause usually I wake up like 10 minutes before I have to be there. So as usual I climb out of bed and put on some pants and a shirt and then run outside in my socks (too lazy to put shoes on before my eyes have opened) and dash to the car so I can turn it on for the 5 or so minutes it takes me to brush my teeth and a sweater. But I was stopped in my tracks when the key turned and nothing happened.
"Gasp!" I cried. I quickly called up my step dad, whom I was supposed to already have picked up for work at this time and told him that my car wouldn't start. Being the clever mechanic he is he figured it was the starter. He drove his van over and took a look and then we sort of 'experimented'. Basically we found a hammer and he hit the starter with it a few times while I tried the key again. My car started! So I followed him back to his house, he hopped in the car, we drove to work and he put a brand spankin' new starter in all before my first coffee break.
Oh and I was out of windshield whiper fluid so I was able to 'aquire' some from the garage while it was being worked on. No one cares. They have it come out of a hose. And it hadn't been cleaned in like 8 months so I was able to take the special hose thinger to my car to clean it off. It's really quite cool. High powered hose that comes out in a line like a big brush and it has soap in the water. Cleaned it in 3 minutes.
Oh! As I side note. I've decided not to quit there. I'm going to work part time in the afternoon/evening starting in january. It won't pay me enough to survive but it's close. I'll just have to figure out the rest later. Karma seems to be on my side lately. I better do something good to keep it up.
